We start by testing the floor for moisture content. This is important since if it exceeds 70%, a moisture barrier needs to be applied to assure the floor coating will not lift or peel. Then, we grind the concrete to remove any impediments that are on the surface while at the same time opening up the pores in the concrete to accept the coating. We also repair visible cracks and significantly pitted areas to ensure an even finish. Finally, we coat the floor, add flakes and seal it. And, this all takes one day to complete.
Like just about everything else when it comes to construction, proper preparation is paramount. To ensure that your floor coating lasts it should be grinded using a diamond grinder. Using a diamond grinder will ensure that any existing coating and impurities will be removed and that the surface. When done properly, your polyaspartic garage floor coating will continue it’s newly applied look for many years to come with proper cleaning and maintenance. Our grinding equipment will be connected to a vacuum during this process to keep the dust that is generated fully contained so that there is no significant cleaning required.
Epoxy Floor Coating
Like polyaspartic, epoxy is a coating that is applied directly to the concrete floor. The floor preparation is the same, but application from start to finish is three to four days due to the longer cure time required. The price is about 80% of the polyaspartic, but it is less durable, offers less skid resistance, and is vulnerable to fading and takes much longer to cure.
