Steps of the TRANSFORMATION
Current Garage Situation:
- Lots and lots of stuff – not organized
- Owner was a teacher and needed to store 25 bins for project instruction
- Unfinished walls (studs) loosely constructed and not very safe
- Floor – concrete and relatively new
- Customers wanted cars to fit into the garage and wanted a completely finished garage
Customer Needs:
- A “work space”
- The wife was a teacher and had to store 35 boxes of teaching material that could not be damaged or destroyed
- Wanted a completely finished garage
Garage Tailors: Garage Intervention:
- Built a work space using metal garage storage cabinets (in steel)
- Dry walled, framed and painted the windows
- Cased, framed and painted door
- Separated workshop with existing shelving units
- Insulated, dry walled and painted entire garage
- Reinforced loosely constructed ceiling
- Organized rear wall with a slat wall panel, hooks and baskets for tools, etc.
- Installed PVC garage flooring tile in gray pads with black border
